Bio to B is the annual event that Biografilm dedicates to business to business networking between professionals of the audiovisual, in collaboration with Emilia-Romagna Film Commission. The Industry Days aim to promote and support Italian and European productions of character driven documentaries, docuseries and biopics, to encourage networking, updating and the exchange of good practices between professionals in the sector and to facilitate sales, options, co-productions and selections of new audiovisual projects.
In its ten years of activity, Bio to B - Industry Days has become a point of reference for the Italian and international documentary sector, and since 2022 it dedicates a particular focus on relations between publishing and audiovisual, making available a privileged and unique space,in which to propose, option, sell and acquire published stories to be transposed, and original subjects intended for both the editorial and audiovisual markets.
From 2024 Bio to B - Industry Days will be enriched with an additional session dedicated entirely to emerging producers in collaboration with Ji.hlava IDFF and with the support of the Emilia Romagna Film Commission.
Ji.hlava International Documentary Film Festival is among the largest documentary festivals in Europe and the largest in Central and Eastern Europe. The festival retains a distinctive and progressive programming approach and has built innovative industry projects for over 1,000 attending film professionals. The 28th edition of Ji.hlava IDFF takes place on October 25 – November 3, 2024.
The program Emerging Producers by Ji.hlava IDFF was born in 2010 and selects eighteen European documentary producers who are being provided with extensive educational, networking, and promotional support. The workshop takes place over the course of two sessions: one during Ji.hlava and the second at Berlinale. For the session taking place in Bologna, 10 more producers will attend the workshop.

How to cut through the noise: In this workshop, publicist Mirjam Wiekenkamp (NOISE) will share her tips and tricks on how to set up an effective PR campaign and launch your film into the world.
Mirjam Wiekenkamp has been working as a publicist in the film industry for more than 15 years. She is the founder of NOISE and specializes in international PR campaigns for both fiction and documentaries at European festivals such as Berlinale, CPH:DOX, Cannes, IDFA, IFFR and Venice. Some of the docs she has recently been working with include THE FLATS (D: Alessandra Celesia, Winner DOX:AWARD at CPH:DOX 2024); LIFE IS BEAUTIFUL (D: Mohamed Jabaly, Winner Best Director at IDFA 2023); MALQUERIDAS (D: Tana Gilbert, Winner Grand Prize at Venice's International Critics' Week 2023); and MUTZENBACHER (D: Ruth Beckermann, Winner Encounters Competition at Berlinale 2022). She also handles international press for Locarno Pro, the industry arm of the Locarno Festival, and the Sarajevo Film Festival.

Victor Ede started producing in 2014 within Cinephage Productions. Trained at workshops like Eurodoc or Emerging Producers, he has produced fifteen films, mostly international co-productions. His films are often coproduced with French and European broadcasters. Victor Ede is currently Creative Media expert, a former deputy member of the Cinemas du Monde commission (CNC), a member of the Eurodoc network DAE, and co-president of the Producers Union of the SUD-PACA region (LPA). He’s cofounded Cinephage (production), Tangente (theatrical distribution), Image Fantôme (postproduction), and in 2024 Dysflims (international distribution).

In this presentation, Audun shows examples from his case study of selling his film Newtopia online with Private VOD. He will share his simple automated framework for online sales, and talk about tactics and strategies to optimize advertising spend, and audience tracking.
Audun Amundsen is a Norwegian Documentary Filmmaker, and an online marketing consultant at GonzoDocs (www.gonzodocs.com). His films Newtopia and Help, I’ve gone Viral! have screened at major Festivals, and sold to TV channels and platforms worldwide. Amundsen is known for delving into immersive long-term projects and crafting engaging participatory documentaries. He is currently working on Click The Link Below, which is about the peculiar world of gurus making millions online.
